Mary Lou Wotring, born on April 15, 1930 in Fairmont, W. Virginia, passed away on April 12, 2018, in her home surrounded be her loving family in Petersburg, Michigan. She was a wonderful wife and mother with a beautiful singing voice. She was a member of the Lambertville United Methodist Church, and was employed by J.C.Penny, Elder Beerman and Macy’s as a sales clerk retiring in 1991.In 1947 after High school, Mary Lou taught in a one room school house. On February 5, 1948 Mary Lou Wiles married Jerry K. Wotring in Red House, Maryland. Mary Lou traveled with Jerry for over 10 years on with the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey. In the late 50’s they moved to the Lambertville area to finally settle and raise their family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry of 70 years; her son, Bruce (Sue) Wotring and daughter-in-law Jan; Grandchildren, Marc( Julie), Scott (Jessica), Brian (Sierra) and Kelly (Adam) and 4 great grandchildren; brothers, Bill and Don (Cathy) Wiles and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her oldest son, Ted.
Friends may gather from 3:00-8:00pm Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home,1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI.
Funeral services on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 will be held at the Lambertville United Methodist Church, 8165 Douglas Road (at Dean Rd.) at 10:00am, where she will lie in state from 9:00am. Procession to Pleasant view cemetery, Petersburg, MI will follow.
